Sawmill Operative

Location: Barnstaple
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00 per hour

Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 06:30–16:30
Friday: 06:30–12:30

We are currently recruiting for a Sawmill Operative to join a busy and well-established business in Barnstaple.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is looking to build a long-term career within a production environment.

The Role

You will initially be working within the sawmill, supporting day-to-day mill operations and learning the processes involved. For the right person, there is the opportunity to progress into framing work as your skills develop.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating machinery within the sawmill
• Handling and processing timber
• Supporting general production duties
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Working as part of a team to meet production targets

Requirements

• Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or similar environment would be beneficial
• Hard-working and reliable
• Keen to learn and develop new skills
• Comfortable with physically demanding work
• Good team player
