Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Role: We are looking for a skilled Tool Fitter to join our team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of Hire equipment and tools used within the company. This role involves working with petrol and diesel engines, so experience with engines is essential, along with electrical knowledge and fitting qualifications.

As a Tool Fitter, your main tasks will include ensuring all equipment is in good working order, repairing breakdowns, and maintaining tools and accessories according to company standards. You will also be involved in supporting external breakdowns, assisting with loading and unloading vehicles, and helping out other workshop staff when needed. The role requires attention to safety, cleanliness, and proper use of tools and equipment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Servicing and repairing a range of equipment and accessories to keep everything operational
  • Performing maintenance tasks on petrol and diesel engines, ensuring they meet safety standards
  • Completing all necessary paperwork accurately for record-keeping purposes
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by following health and safety regulations
  • Using company-issued tools properly and returning them after use
  • Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles for deliveries and pickups
  • Supporting external repairs and breakdowns of equipment at various locations
  • Helping colleagues with training or additional tasks as required
  • Supporting driving duties during busy times to ensure equipment and tools are available when needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant fitting qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, NVQ in Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Electrical knowledge and experience
  • Practical experience working with petrol and diesel engines
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
