Interaction Recruitment is proudly representing a leading client in the Safety Product Testing sector, seeking a Technologist to join their dynamic team in Kettering. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional eager to make a significant impact in the testing and quality assurance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

About the Team

Our client's Safety Product Testing team ensures that a wide range of PPE products meets international protection standards. The team conducts testing on items such as gloves, helmets, eyewear, hearing protection, fall protection gear, motorcycle garments, and much more, serving a global customer base. The team works from a state-of-the-art laboratory, equipped with advanced testing machinery, to evaluate the physical properties of PPE.

Key Responsibilities

As a Technologist, your primary focus will be on Respiratory, Eyewear, Acoustics, Kneepads, and Helmets testing areas, although there may be opportunities to work across other PPE categories over time. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine physical testing in line with international and European standards, ensuring that all testing is completed within deadlines.

  • Operating test equipment and recording results in both electronic and hard copy formats.

  • Generating detailed reports summarising test results and communicating findings clearly.

  • Liaising with customers via email, telephone, and in person to offer guidance on testing procedures and requirements.

  • Handling technical inquiries and advising customers on appropriate testing protocols.

  • Updating job details and enquiry data using Dynamics software.

  • Contributing to continuous improvements in testing facilities, processes, and procedures.

  • Participating in external events, such as webinars, seminars, customer visits, and trade shows.

Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role where necessary.

About You

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Proven customer service experience.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous laboratory experience, including familiarity with testing standards.

  • Experience in PPE manufacturing (e.g., Respiratory, Hearing, Eyewear).

  • Experience using database systems (Dynamics preferred).

  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Background in physics.

  • Willingness to travel and potential language skills.
