About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Miller Programmer to join their expanding precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high‑accuracy components for a variety of sectors. This position is ideal for someone who prides themselves on precision, efficiency, and high‑quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls
  • Create, edit, and optimise CNC programs to meet production requirements
  • Select suitable tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
  • Carry out first‑off inspections and ensure all work meets tight tolerances
  • Diagnose machining issues and implement process improvements
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant work environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller with strong programming ability
  • Excellent understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings 
  • Competence in using precision measuring equipment
  • High attention to detail with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet production targets

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with 4‑axis or 5‑axis CNC milling
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
  • Background in low‑volume, high‑precision manufacturing
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices
