We are recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop a high-performing production operation in a busy, hands-on manufacturing environment. This is a leadership role where you will drive performance, develop your team, and champion continuous improvement across people, processes, and equipment.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will oversee daily production activities, ensure KPIs are met, and work closely with senior management to deliver high-quality output. This role is hands-on and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on efficiency, quality, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Performance

  • Lead your team to consistently achieve production KPIs
  • Schedule production jobs to maximise resources and meet deadlines
  • Monitor staff performance and maintain operational efficiency
  • Ensure all production tasks are completed on time

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement and develop Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Improve production processes and optimise equipment performance
  • Recommend machinery upgrades or replacements where needed

People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a small production team
  • Identify training needs and deliver development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate employee records on HR systems

Quality & Operational Excellence

  • Identify and resolve quality issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all work meets company procedures and quality standards
  • Support other departments as needed to achieve business goals

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Promote good health and safety practices across production areas

About you?...

  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Experienced in leading and developing a small team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, driven, and results-focused
  • Competent IT user (full in-house training provided)
  • Excellent attention to detail and confident in giving and following instructions

Desirable:

  • Experience with production equipment or machinery
  • First Aid, Fire Safety, or Moving & Handling training
