Business Development Manager – FMCG / Confectionery
£35,000 – £50,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance

We’re supporting a well‑established Sweets Manufacturer in Bradford in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing FMCG business known for producing high‑quality confectionery products supplied across the UK.
This role combines Key Account Management with New Business Development, managing some of the company’s top customer accounts while also identifying and securing new opportunities across multiple channels.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth across the Distributor, Wholesaler, Retail, and Commercial sectors. This is a field‑based role covering Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and developing several of the company's top key accounts
- Growing existing customer accounts through strategic account planning
- Prospecting, pitching, and securing new business opportunities
- Selling confectionery and sweet goods into distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and commercial customers
- Identifying category opportunities and supporting product growth
- Regular face‑to‑face customer visits across Yorkshire and surrounding areas
- Maintaining accurate CRM updates and reporting into senior management
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Sales experience within FMCG
- Experience within confectionery, sweet goods, or food sales is highly desirable, but not essential
- Background selling into distribution, wholesale, and retail would be a strong advantage
- Strong Key Account Management experience, particularly with high‑value customers
- A relationship‑builder with strong commercial awareness
- Highly self‑motivated, organised, and confident in a field‑based environment
- Full UK driving licence
