TIG Welder / Fabricator

Salary: £15–£17 per hour

We are currently recruiting an experienced TIG Welder to join our client’s established engineering and fabrication team. This role is ideal for a skilled fabricator with a strong background in stainless steel fabrication, pipework, and sheet metal. You will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of pressure vessels, process vessels, and associated components, working to high-quality engineering standards.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate, excellent working conditions, and a highly desirable 4-day working week.


Working Hours

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday (days)

  • Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week, with the option to work overtime on Fridays at time and a half


Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and TIG weld stainless steel components, vessels, and structures in line with engineering drawings and specifications

  • Carry out high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel materials

  • Manufacture, install, and weld pipework systems, including both orbital and manual welding across various diameters and wall thicknesses

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometric sketches, and technical documentation

  • Operate fabrication equipment such as guillotines, rollers, press brakes, and cutting machinery

  • Inspect completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and weld integrity, maintaining high quality standards


Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous fabrication and welding experience within an industrial or engineering environment

  • Proven experience working with stainless steel, sheet metal, and pipework

  • Strong proficiency in TIG welding techniques

  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and tolerances

  • Experience using fabrication tools and workshop machinery safely and efficiently
