Warehouse Assistant

Rate of pay: £12.46 per hour
The shifts on offer are 06:00-14:00/ 14:00-22:00.
We are currently seeking motivated and reliable Warehouse Assistants to join our busy client in Northampton. This role will involve various tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse, from processing orders to dispatching goods and assisting with stock control. You will play a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workplace, while also contributing to ongoing improvements within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:

Process and work from picking lists to fulfill, pack, and dispatch client orders accurately and on time.

Use their PDA system for picking and booking in goods.

Ensure client orders are processed according to specific instructions.

Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, ensuring materials are stored correctly and waste is disposed of appropriately.

Report any potential risks, product defects, or inventory issues to a senior team member promptly.

Proactively monitor stock levels and inform your manager when supplies (stationery, packaging materials) are running low.

Follow health and safety procedures, reporting any risks or hazards to the Warehouse Manager or Health & Safety Officer.

Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing service levels and operational efficiency.

Ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) and service targets are met.
Skills & Experience Required:

Ability to learn and use their bespoke warehousing IT system.

Previous experience in a warehouse is essential

Good understanding of health and safety practices in a warehouse environment.

Reliable and conscientious with excellent timekeeping and attendance.

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.

Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and carry out manual handling tasks (heavy lifting may be required).

Sufficient command of the English language to understand safety instructions, write emails, and give clear verbal instructions.
