My client based on the outskirts of Huntingdon are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for the effectiveness of the Commercial Team and ensuring administration processes work effectively.

  • OFFICE BASED ROLE – NOT HYBRID
  • Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
  • Own Transport required due to the location
  • Salary - £30-35,000 DOE
  • Packaging Experience Required to be considered for this role.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for assisting in daily needs and managing the company’s general processing activities to ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of the department. You will be expected to work successfully with other team managers to assist in the effectiveness of meeting customer and supplier needs and requirements. The Commercial Manager is also responsible for daily stock control and analysis, providing necessary information and guidance to managers and colleagues.

Duties and key responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and trust with customers, suppliers and colleagues through open and interactive communication
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with internal departments
  • Work collaboratively with management team to enhance the day-to-day operations of the business and ensure positive and timely outcomes
  • Support Commercial Team staff members
  • Delegate work to staff together with managing own workload and output
  • Provide training where required on in-house systems and processes
  • Promote staff development and training
  • Understand and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 QMS policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory accreditations including FSC, EPR and BRC

 

Administrative responsibilities:

  • Deal directly with customers and suppliers by telephone, email and face to face where necessary
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Process purchase orders, sales orders and goods receipts
  • Raise sales invoices / delivery notes
  • Registering, matching and posting purchase invoices
  • Progress purchase orders
  • Issue debit notes
  • Book in supplier deliveries
  • Stock control and analysis
  • Reporting for customers
  • Respond to customer enquiries and process complaints where necessary
  • Obtain initial price or updated price from suppliers
  • Negotiate with suppliers
  • Create, update and fully maintain, new or existing specifications on bespoke enquiry database
  • Create new parts or superseded parts on Intellect
  • Assist area sales managers in the preparation of customer quotations
  • Arrange samples from suppliers
  • Send artwork, colour swatches and pallet specifications to customers for approval
  • Liaise with suppliers on received non-conformance goods
  • Manage and direct phone calls
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety Policy
