Job Role: Engineering Manager
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £65,000-£70,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday

Interaction Technical have partnered with a global leader within the sustainable packaging industry as they look to expand their engineering and management teams in Northampton. Our client has been a market leader for well over 50 years, offering sustainable packaging solutions for blue-chip companies throughout the UK and the world, going from strength to strength over the past few years. They are now looking to grow their engineering team further, with both shift engineering and engineering manager positions available.

The Duties:
- Lead the engineering team to ensure optimal performance of all plant equipment and infrastructure.
- Minimise downtime through effective maintenance strategies and rapid response to breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with all UK/EU Health & Safety, environmental, and insurance legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement control measures, and manage contractor safety.
- Collaborate with all teams throughout the business, creating a culture of continuous improvement throughout the site.
- Manage departmental budgets and service contracts with a focus on cost efficiency.
- Deliver training to production staff on equipment maintenance and safety, as well as mentoring and developing engineers and technicians.
- Carry out regular performance reviews for the engineering team, offering routes to help develop engineers further.
The Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications – Degree, HND, HNC and/or NVQ level 3 in Engineering or similar field (essential)
- Hands-on maintenance experience in a highly automated, batch production, or FMCG environment (essential)
- Previous experience within a management and/or leadership position within manufacturing (essential)
- Proven ability to manage costs and work within budgets, being as cost-efficient as possible (essential)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma etc (advantageous)
- Previous experience and success in delivering investment projects (advantageous)
