Forklift Operative

📍 Location: Newton Abbot
💷 Pay Rate: £12.58 per hour
🕒 Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
  📅 Contract Type: Temporary
  📨 Reporting to: Production Control Manager

About the Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Forklift Operative to support their busy production and dispatch operations. This is a hands-on role involving the safe movement of high-value equipment, stock handling, and supporting the wider production team.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, operating a variety of forklifts and assisting with loading, unloading, and internal logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate counterbalance forklifts to move stock and equipment safely
• Load and unload deliveries, including large and high-value items
• Support stores and dispatch teams with picking, packing, and stock control
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Occasionally support off-site deliveries and collections using company vehicles

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (with evidence of training from a regulated body)
• Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or logistics environment
• Comfortable handling large or high-value items
• Good attention to detail and a strong safety mindset
• Flexible and proactive approach to supporting the wider team
