One of my clients that specialises in a unique engineered solution for their clients, they are currently looking for an experienced Field Sales & Business Development Engineer that will provide bespoke manufactured solutions to their Customers in the NORTH.

The Electrical & Mechanical division is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager/ Commercial Manager to lead all sales activity within the North, they are looking for you experience within Engineering, Construction or Electrical & Mechanical Components.

This is a newly created role, which brings a potential opportunity to not only grow sales in the North, typically and to establish and develop a team in the future.

You will ensure market trends are defined by customers, suppliers and competitor activity. Develop robust sales plans that reflect the need to maximise stock levels, whilst developing and monitoring customer service standards that build customer retention levels.

You will be expected to lead negotiations with major and potential new customers so knowledge of the Engineering industry or similar is key for a clear customer understanding.

You will be commercially aware but I am open to review your CV if you have other engineering experience, providing you can demonstrate experience in market segmentation, competitor analysis, pricing techniques, account planning and stock management.

This is an autonomous business development role, requiring an ambitious and driven self-starter with strong sales experience and excellent customer service skills who also possesses experience in operations and process knowledge.

The client offers a competitive salary £35,000 - £40,000 and benefit package plus the opportunity to work for a forward-thinking business, providing career development.

  • 2-3 years of engineering field sales and a background with a mechanical and electrical engineering background.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Keen to travel throughout the North with key client visits and happy to be away from home.
  • Must be self-motivated, ambitious, organised, team player with a persuasive and energetic personality.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must. The ability to speak clearly, confidently and professionally on the telephone as well as the ability to write clearly and succinctly through email communication.
  • Strong solution selling skill, with great product introduction and passion for the brand & problem-solving abilities.
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, account development and time management.
  • The ability to maintain & build relationships with current customers and to generate new accounts within your assigned territory.
  • Strong computer proficiency with an emphasis in MS Office
