Interaction Recruitment are recruiting Class 1 Non ADR Tanker Drivers within the Midlands

Working under the GB Domestic rules, Working 5 days in 7 on a rota. Start times on days between 05.00 – 06.00 and nights 17.00 – 18.00 hours. Must be flexible to suit the business

Rates:

Days £12.09 per hour (PAYE) £13.55 (LTD) - after 37 hours all hours are £16.08 with a weekly average of 55 hours (PAYE)

Nights £16.08 per hour (PAYE) £18.02 per hour (LTD) - after 37 hours all hours are £18.14 with a weekly average of 55 hours (PAYE)

Role Objective:

  • To safely operate vacuum tankers in the collection & transport of sewage sludge between sites.

  • To operate a vehicle in compliance with road transport legislation and company policies and procedures. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safe operation of  vacuum tankers.

  • Collection of sewage sludge or other non-hazardous wastes from sewage treatment works & transportation back to the depot

  • Discharge to sites as per company procedures & road transport legislation.

  • Perform & record daily and weekly vehicles checks.

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean & roadworthy condition both internally & externally.

  • Attend & positively contribute to meetings as required.

  • Demonstrate safe & professional behaviours at all times.

  • Operate tankers in a professional manner in order to project a positive image to the general public.

Experience:

No experience required with Tankers. You must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience and be over 25 to meet with the Insurance criteria. 

Capabilities:

  • Ability to operate vacuum tankers and associated equipment.

  • Ability to safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures

  • Ability to manipulate (including loading & unloading to/from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework (up to 6” diameter) in a safe manner utilizing correct manual handling techniques.

  • Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions utilizing correct PPE, loneworker system, etc.

  • Ability to dynamically risk assesses site access & working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.

  • Ability to communicate with colleagues in person and by telephone. Ability to understand communications & instructions in person, by telephone and in writing. 

Essential

  • Driving Licence - Category C+E
