I am working with a business who are a leader int heir field, they are an established and international business who operate a 24/7 operation. Through internal and business growth I am seeking an Infrastructure Analyst to joined a highly skills team based in Peterborough.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of infrastructure configuration including firewall, networks, servers, software install, licences and ensuring system availability meets business requirements.
  • Execution of operational duties assigned, including server, storage, backup and power systems in the pursuit of maintaining IT business systems.
  • Explores technology evolution and innovation in the market and how these can benefit our business, our operating models and how we provide insight on our performance.   
  • Contributor for the infrastructure architecture, design and operation. Supporting how it fits both the long term and short term needs of the business.  Supporting alignment with the application architecture evolutio
  • Engage with, develop and manage relationships between all key parties, departments and stakeholders across the business and in particular the outsourced Data Centre, Cloud and other Infrastructure service providers
  • Escalate Key decisions to your Line Manager / Head of Services / CTO as they aris
  • Deliver changes to the infrastructure to achieve a robust, performant, cost effective and secure platform to enable our growth
  • Communicates current and future architecture models to guide the investment choices for solutions, Support the clear assessment for change and key information for ongoing support and maintenance
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of an asset database of all the hardware components and models to provide the insight of the age mix, supportability and life of the assets is clear and to drive the architecture investment roadmap
  • Deliver activities as a result of tasks from the projects and roadmap.
  • Contribute to review of proposed external solution providers and ensure external solution components are suitable and compatible with the enterprise architecture
  • Deliver improvements to the Framework for Infrastructure Architecture in agreement with the Infrastructure Architect
  • Support your team and other key staff members as required.  
  • Have demonstrable experience of managing and delivering infrastructure for internal and external teams in fast moving real time environments.
  • Demonstrate experience of Risk Analysis, delivering tasks within a project.
  • Be familiar with technologies in consumer centric businesses including web, mobile and fulfilment technologies.
  • Ability to support/challenge business case/requirement
  • Problem solving skills and resilience to issues and influences outside of his/her control
  • Proactive in bringing forward issues and opportunities, direct and persuasive when necessary.
  • Supportive with those learning and with sufficient control’s to ensure progress is assured with the team and outsourced suppliers and partners.
  • Excellent team player, flexible, responsive, takes ownership and can work on the detail in a real time environment that requires out of hours work as necessary.
  • You need to have:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering infrastructure for internal and external teams in fast moving real time environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of Risk Analysis, delivering tasks within a project.
  • Be familiar with current industry trends and differing technologies and their merits including practical experience of  WAN, LAN, Server, Storage, Wireless and virtualised components
  • Be familiar with technologies in consumer centric businesses including web, mobile and fulfilment technologies.
  • Ability to support/challenge business case/requirements.
  • Problem solving skills and resilience to issues and influences outside of his/her control
  • Proactive in bringing forward issues and opportunities, direct and persuasive when necessary.
