There is an incredible opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a respected and highly thought of regional contractor based near Portsmouth. 

This leading contractor will consider Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyors relocating from anywhere in the UK. Relocating to the beautiful south has never been more appealing, the climate and temperature being the best anywhere in the UK. Portsmouth is a vibrant and exciting city with a fantastic historic dockyard, charming beaches and great schools making this a wonderful place to live and bring up a family. 
A vacancy has arisen for Quantity Surveyors to assist other members of the surveying team. Reporting to the managing surveyor, you will effectively assist in providing financial and contractual control on all allocated projects.

Key responsibilities include:

To be mentored by a Quantity Surveyor to learn the role, responsibilities and duties of being a Quantity Surveyor.

To assist in managing Subcontractors/Suppliers accounts, financially & contractually to secure full entitlements under the contract.

To assist in the management and planning of cost and value associated with all types of construction project.

As the successful candidate, it is desirable to have contractor experience with some technical knowledge.

It would also be desirable to have a basic understanding of Health and Safety, Procurement, Planning and Programming procedures and be able to demonstrate an some commercial awareness. Using communication and negotiation skills, you will be able to assist in solving problems effectively and have the drive and ambition to successfully deliver a high quality service.

Currently studying or holding a HNC in Building Studies (or equivalent), and CSCS Certification will be essential, as well as good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
